Crop Over Week Three (3)

Firstly, let me apologize for missing Week Two (2) and for being late with Week Three (3). The Crop Over season has picked up quite a bit and as a new artist learning the industry, overcoming numerous obstacles and still having fun my time is extremely stretched.

Crop Over Week One (1)

Where do I start??!! My first week as a Soca artist for Crop Over 2010 officially started last week when I released the new and much improved version of "The Meat Man", produced by Fabian 'Minim' Worrell for Million Dollar Music on the two most popular entertainment websites in Barbados - Bajantube.com and BajanDancehall.com at midnight on Sunday June 6th to rave reviews by patrons.

On Monday I did my first photo shoot {I have a next one this week - with some models :)} and the pictures were awesome..!! Once again the reviews on social websites such as Facebook and Twitter were so encouraging..!!

Tuesday and Wednesday I spent about 17 hours each day 'making links', e-mailing the track to DJs and radio stations all over the world, updating my social pages such as MySpace and just a bunch of online promotion. It might seem easy but trust me its very tedious work..!!

Thursday I had my first Crop Over performance - two in one night..!! First, I performed at Red Rock for Kreativ Uncut, a television program with a live TV audience. My next performance was at Ship Inn where I was backed by Strategy the Energy Band - much respect to Kirk Brown..!! Both performances went well and I learnt a lot, so my future performances will just keep improving..!!

Also on Thursday, I had the opportunity to meet legendary producer Chris Allman and visit his Slam City Studios..!! Big up my 'pawdiiieeee' iNDRANi, her song 'Fyah Wata' on the Hunny Bunny Riddim is maaaaadddd..!!

Friday and Saturday I spent mostly with my University friends, did more online promoting and actually got a good amount of sleep. The track was also released on Antigua's top radio station Vybz FM by 'Ibis the Livest' on Saturday.


Highlights of my week:

- BlackBerry messages at four in the morning - "Your song is playing on the radio..!!". LOL - love all my supporters..!!

- The photo shoot was the bomb..!! Working with professional photographer Benjamin Drakes was awesome and interacting with actual Meat Men and Women was much fun and also educational..!!

- Bo Bo's performance at Kreativ Uncut..!! His new track "Muddy, Muddy, Muddy" is definitely going to be an anthem for Crop Over 2010..!!


This week:

I will be doing a lot of radio interviews and now the online promoting is pretty much covered hitting the streets..!! My performances confirmed for this week thus far are "SMASHED: I'm Not Drunk..!!" on Monday and "Twisted Thursdays".
